Whenever a major hip hop artist passes away, it's bound to make the news, especially considering the popularity of some of these artists. However, what exactly is the cause of these famous deaths?
Today’s infographic breaks down the major deaths in hip hop over the past thirty years. Perhaps unsurprisingly do to the infamous murders of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., violent deaths are apparently a popular way to go. In a genre full of references to this type of lifestyle, it’s unfortunate to say that this isn’t really a surprise.
However, not every death is the result of murder. These artists are still human and sometimes unforeseen complications are bound to happen. Freak accidents and disease are just as likely to happen to famous hip hop artists as they are to you and me. For example, did you know that statistically speaking, there is a 1 in 103 chance a person will die due to a car accident? And there is a 1 in 6 chance of dying from cancer.
It’s quite fascinating to see why exactly why these hip hop artists are perishing, and hopefully we can make educated decisions in regards to mental health and the treatment of celebrities (across all mediums) in the future.
