How Solar Panels Work

By | source: Oct 30th, 2014

If there is one thing I hate about living in a 3-bedroom house, it’s the high cost of electricity. And although I don’t own my own home yet, I’ve always thought the idea of having solar panels was really cool. I even read an article yesterday discussing how solar panel prices are going down in the U.S., and may even become lower than electricity.

For those of you who aren’t quite sure what solar panels do, today’s handy infographic explains how they work. Essentially, the sun hits the solar panel cells and produces electricity, or solar power. The most important part of the solar panels is the silicon they’re made from. Without it, the panels could not produce electricity.

The science behind solar panels is amazing, and so are the benefits of using them for your home. Click the link or the infographic below to learn more.
