How to Make Your Plants Grow… You Need These Nutrients

By | source:Here Jan 25th, 2022

Plants need nutrients to grow and survive. These nutrients are divided into different groups like macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are the main groups like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Micronutrients are the smaller groups like boron, copper, chlorine and sulfur.

It is important that the plant receives all these nutrients (in healthy amounts) to grow. If there is a lack of one particular nutrient, the plant will develop symptoms like yellow leaves or curled leaves. On the flip side, if there is too much of one nutrient (like nitrogen), you can burn your plants and possibly kill them.

Understanding the nutritional requirements of plants is key to creating an optimal environment for their growth. Get this right and your houseplants will thank you by either producing more flowers or continue growing thicker, fuller, and in some agencies even more colorful leaves. And we will thank ourselves knowing that we’re doing the best we can to help our indoor garden flourish!

One of the quickest ways to support our plants and provide all of the nutrients they need to survive and grow is by administering plant fertilizer. To know which kind of fertilizer to use, pay attention to signs of deficiency. Common signs of deficiency include stunted growth, necrosis of plant leaf tips, yellowing leaves, brown spots, yellowing between veins, narrow or deformed leaves, and leaf curling. While indoor plant fertilizer can certainly help remedy any deficiencies, it’s super important to first understand what your plant needs before pouring any nutrients into the soil. Some fertilizers address specific deficiencies while others work more like a daily vitamin.

In this infographic, we outline all of the essential nutrients that plants need in order to survive and grow.
