I believe that the key to overcoming procrastination is to take an honest look at yourself and your life. Then you can get on a path to change. Let’s start with some daily practices that can help you overcome procrastination.

I’m a professional procrastinator. I’ll put off paying bills, posting letters, and other basic tasks for as long as possible—despite the fact that I know it’s in my best interest to handle them on time. Like many people, I can be described as having at least some tendencies toward adult ADHD. Because of that, being productive and staying focused are not always easy for me—or other people who have similar issues. Yet even though I struggle with these things, I’ve found that there are steps you can take to overcome them and help yourself focus like a laser beam. Here are 14 tactics and habits that have worked for me personally:

If want to overcome procrastination, make sure to do some research and find out what works for you

You need to figure out what works for you. If a certain task is bringing out your inner procrastinator, then it might be better to set that task aside and tackle something else first. Once you have momentum, it’s easier to keep going. Don’t expect a quick fix or miracle cure. If you’re struggling with procrastination, the best thing that can happen is for you to start making little changes in your daily routine that will make all the difference over time. Don’t give up! It can be tempting to give up on trying new things if they don’t work right away–but remember: nothing happens overnight! These practices may take some time before they become second nature, but once they do…wow! What an amazing feeling of power and confidence!
