Cannabis is a very hot topic. Right as you're reading this, America has some of the most damning laws agains marijuana possession, as well as the most lenient. Portugal has some very interesting laws, ones that other countries and looking at and some even trying out. Instead of getting in trouble when a citizen is caught with an illegal substance, they are treated as a patient. They must go try to kick their habit with support groups and treatment, not in jail.
Legal Cannabis is the future for most of the world, it will just be a while until it is adopted. The real question is if or when countries will treat harder drug use and possession like Portugal.
