Leftovers aren’t exciting, but before you pass them over yet again have a look at these delicious dishes.
Food waste is a big deal in the States. We may have crazy income inequality but 99% of the 99% act like they’ve got money to burn when tossing out food, myself included. Instead of seeing that stodgy leftover oatmeal and thinking “Gross – That there’s a bin job” take a moment to imagine what it could be. Imagine crisp oatmeal pancakes with yogurt and honey and berries. I’m going to have to start eating oatmeal just so I can have extra.
Everything on this list looks amazing and a lot of it, like the oatmeal pancakes, is simple to prepare. For instance, that pasta and cheese frittata looks better than the original pasta dish probably was. I think I’d throw some slices of tomato on top and fresh spinach, and how about some alfredo sauce? Hella yum.
Sadly, you’re not going to be able to salvage all the foodstuffs, but there are better options than just chucking it in the bin. Our Composting 101 infographic can give you the lowdown on starting a compost pile and turning that moldy bread into amazing soil for your garden.6.1k
