The End of Computers as We Know It

By | source: May 13th, 2011

This is one of the coolest infographic designs I have ever seen. Probably because I’m a sucker for typography, cheesy allusions and computers. I hope you are too. This is pretty much a 50 year timeline of the history of computers. It is crisp, clean and the colors snap, although it is a little low on content.

Besides my critique, I actually learned a few things from this graphic. The fact that “scientists already have the basic building blocks of DNA computers” blew my mind. Imagine tini-tiny biological robots that can enter your body to fight off disease. Also imagine tini-tiny biological robots that can enter your body to be the disease. Yuck.

All technology in my opinion has served the greater good, but when should we start to lookout for the bad? What if evil scientists start popping up and creating super robot viruses for humans we could all be screwed. Evil scientists may be a stretch, but any country *cough North Korea cough* with some DNA robotic engineers could possibly create a devastating biological catastrophe.

This is where I get to my point: North Korea is going to release biological robots to take over the world in the near future. In order to combat this, America needs to keep researching this technology to be able to counter the attack. But if somehow these DNA-filled robots ever band together, we’ll have a horrible case of Skynet. [Via]
